Dan Feldman compression

Nikon D300 1/3200 @ f 2.8, 200mm, ISO 200. I really enjoy shooting sports and i thought this was fun with the multiple layers of depth provided by the shallow depth of field

  1. Very nice action shot. Your right the DOF is a great touch. The framing is perfect and very well done on the focus. I'm sure you could sale that to a publication.

  3. I also love sport images. Well done capturing the emotion of the cyclists, which is highlighted by the narrow depth of field.
To me, focusing on one athlete allows the viewer to experience the feeling of the athlete. Cycling is a very individual sport, that requires a unique focus and that is emphasized by the narrow depth of field as well. You can almost feel the struggle of the two cyclists in the front coming up that hill. I like it.

  5. I liked this photo because it was very unique and it was focused on sport which is something different than the other post. So good idea on the topic and good photo, very good combination of depth. Yes.

  6. Using DOF in this manner also conveys a feeling of speed and movement. Nice work.
