Carolyn Steele - Week 4 - Exposure

Week 4 found me in Gilgal Gardens - 749 E. 500 S. again shooting with my Nikon D-300 with an 18-200 mm lense. This was shot at 150mm, 1/320, F/7.1 (I didn't know my camera would shoot incremental f-stops. I just set it on Aperture Priority, and dialed it up to the widest aperture it would accept in the situation. On screen, it probably read 5.6 or 8, but the meta-data on the file says F/7.1) I like that the exposure left enough detail to see the outline and shine on the leaves rather than completely blurring them out.

This shot epitomizes Gilgal Gardens - rather esoteric but fascinating to study. This was shot at 18mm, 1/100, F/16. (The syllabus said to post two shots, one at each end of the F/spectrum, so I did.)

  1. I like your genre using gardens, both of these are very interesting shots. The Gilgal Gardens does look interesting to see.
